Aiden Perkins

President

A fourth year student from Culbertson, Montana, Aiden is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with minors in Accounting and Small Business Management. His leadership at Northern has included serving as ASMSUN President (25-26), Business Manager (24-25), and At-Large Senator (23-24) and has supported residential education as a Morgan Hall Resident Director (25-26) and MacKenzie Hall Resident Assistant (24-25 & 23-24).

Aiden's involvement spans athletics, student engagement and campus traditions - from serving as a 2024 Orientation Leader and Student Ambassador (24-26), to the Lights Football Team (22 & 23, captain 23) and being named a 2024 Homecoming Royal Light. He is active in the Dungeons & Dragons Club, Sweet Grass Society, and Northern Business Club.  

AJ Harris

Vice President

Originally from Edwardsburg, Michigan, AJ is a third-year student double majoring in Diesel Technology/Field Maintenance and Trades Management. He currently serves as ASMSUN Vice President (25-26 & 24-25), after beginning his Senate service as a First-Year Senator 23-24.

In addition to his Senate leadership role - where he chairs the Inter-Organizational Council (IOC) - AJ has served Residential Education as the Morgan HallAssistant Resident Director (25-26) and MacKenzie Hall Resident Assistant (24-25), and 2024 Orientation Leader. He has balanced multiple campus jobs while competing three seasons as a member of the Northern Lights Wrestling team, serving as an MSUN Student Ambassador, and an active member of the Dungeons & Dragons Club. He is passionate about year-round involvement within IOC and strengthening collaboration among student organizations. When he is not in a meeting, practice or class, you'll likely find AJ focusing on physical fitness.

Ashton Grover

Business Manager

Ashton, a fourth-year Business Administration major with an Accounting minor, brings professional experience to his role as ASMSUN Business Manager (25-26). Originally from Lewistown, Montana, he works full-time with OneHealth in Chinook as a staff accountant; his background also includes internships with State Farm and Scharfe, Kato, & Co. (CPA firm) and membership in the Northern Business Club.

A former At-Large Senator (24-25) and member of the Lights Football team (23 & 24), Ashton is focused on using his financial expertise to ensure responsible stewardship of student funds, while helping MSUN remain a place where students want to start - and finish - their academic journey.

Kaiya Doney

Administrative Assistant

Kaiya transferred to MSU-Northern from MSU-Billings in 2023 and is now in her third year pursuing a bachelor's degree in Nursing after completing her associate degree in Nursing last spring. A Columbus, Montana native, she has served ASMSUN as Administrative Assistant (25-26 & 24-25) and previously as an At-Large Senator (23-24), and was elected a 2024 Homecoming Royal Light.

Her passion for helping people has led to her academic pursuits, as well as her involvements on campus, which have included serving Residential Education as the MacKenzie Hall Resident Director (25-26), a Resident Assistant (24-25), and a 2024 Orientation Leader, as well as the IOC Representative of Nursing Club (24-25 & 23-24), and student representative on the Student Engagement Committee. As Administrative Assistant, Kaiya focuses on organization, documentation, and ensuring student voices are clearly represented in Senate decisions. She believes effective student government is built on communication, transparency and teamwork. 

Allec Knapton

Senator At-Large (Spring)

From Columbia Falls, Montana, Allec is a third-year student majoring in Agricultural Operations Technology with a minor in Marketing: Technical Sales & Service. Elected as an At-Large Senator in spring 2025, he has competed three seasons with the Lights Football team (23-25).

With prior leadership experience that emphasized attention to detail and accountability, Allec is committed to representing student interests thoughtfully and responsibly in Senate decisions.  

Deserae Toombs

Senator At-Large (Spring)

Deserae, a second-year student from Roundup, Montana, is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education - Physical Education. She currently serves as an At-Large Senator (25-26) after beginning her Senate involvement as a First-Year Senator (24-25).

Her campus engagement includes Residential Education as a MacKenzie Hall Resident Assistant (25-26), student representative on the Student Engagement Committee, MSUN Student Ambassador, and member of the MSUN Cross Country and Track teams (24-26). A student employee with the MSUN Alumni Foundation, Deserae is passionate about creating fun, inclusive opportunities that encourage more students to get involved. 

Elliot Paz

Senator At-Large (Spring)

Elliot transferred to MSU-Northern from his hometown and Great Falls College-MSU, where he served in ASGFC as a Senator, Vice President, and President. Now in his second year at Northern, he is majoring in Integrated Health Sciences, with a minor in Psychology.

He was appointed to At-Large Senator (26), works as a Resident Assistant in MacKenzie Hall (25-26), is a teaching assistant for Professor Despot and an active member of the MSUN Dungeons & Dragons Club. Elliot values building connections with students and strengthening communication between Senate and the broader campus community. 

Jonathan Wamsley 

Senator At-Large (Spring)

A third-year Secondary Education (IT 5-12) major from Helena, Montana, Jonathan serves as an At-Large Senator (25-26) and is involved across campus and community spaces as an SSS Peer Tutor in Math and Drafting, MorganHall Resident Assistant (25-26), Chi Alpha (Student Leader, Treasurer, and event facilitator for Live Action Clue), and Treasurer and frequent event planner in the Dungeons & Dragons Club.

He is active in the Havre community through the Boys and Girls Club of Hi-Line and served in several leadership roles throughout High School (Club liaison for yfc:campus life, parliamentarian and reporter for SkillsUSA). In Senate, Jonathan focuses on collaboration between clubs and promoting meaningful student engagement across campus. 

Philip Haynes

Senator At-Large (Spring)

Philip, from Scobey, Montana, is a third-year student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Diesel Technology and an associate's degree in Agriculture Mechanics Technology. Appointed as an At-Large Senator in fall 2025, he also serves as a Resident Assistant in Morgan Hall, and is a member of the Lights Football team (23, 24, & 25).

Through Senate, Philip hopes to expand his involvement on campus and gain knowledge that will help him better support fellow students.  

Sterling Shelton 

Senator At-Large (Spring)

A Havre native, Sterling is in his third year double majoring in Diesel Technology Equipment Management and Automotive Technology. He is in his second term as an At-Large Senator (25-26 & 24-25) and is actively involved with SkillsUSA, assisting with concessions, TekNoXpo and competitions - he earned 2nd place in Automotive at the SkillsUSA National Championship. 

Sterling balances two part-time jobs (as an ASE certified Mechanic at Nate's Gona' Fix it and Northern Montana Care Center in Nutritional Services) alongside his coursework. In Senate, he strives to amplify student voices and encourage greater participation in campus activities and events.

De'Amoni Wright

Senator At-Large (Fall)

Originally from Seattle, Washington, D'Amoni is in his third year at Northern working toward an AAS in Electrical Technology and a Welding certificate. Elected as an At-Large Senator in fall 2025; he is also a member of the Northern Lights football team and works security for campus athletic events.

He joined Senate after hearing comments from fellow students and is motivated to help create a more positive and enjoyable campus experience for everyone.

Loren Lane 

Senator At-Large (Fall)

Loren, a second-year Diesel Technology major from Augusta, Montana, is serving his second term on ASMSUN Senate. He previously held a First-Year Senator seat (24-25) and now serves as an At-Large Senator (25-26).

His campus involvement has included Lights Cross Country and Track (24-25), a 2025 Orientation Leader, Treasurer of the MSUN chapter of SkillsUSA and work with the campus grounds crew. Loren is focused on helping students adjust to campus life and improving how student government operates.

Ricardo Haffner

Senator At-Large (Fall)

Ricardo is a second year Electrical Technology student from Great Falls, Montana. Appointed as an At-Large Senator in spring of 2026, he also serves as a Resident Assistant and is a member of the Northern Lights football team (24 & 25).

Through Senate, Ricardo hopes to better understand student government processes and contribute to improving the student experience at Northern.

Izabelle "Izzy" Baker

First-Year Senator (Fall)

Izzy is a first-year Integrated Health Sciences major from Harlem, Montana. A Valedictorian, National Honor Society, and multi-sport athlete - including leadership roles as Captain (24-25) and Co-Captain (23-24) of the Wrestling team - she brings strong academic and team experience to ASMSUN.

Appointed as a First-Year Senator in the fall of 25, Izzy is also a member of the MSUN Dungeons & Dragons Club and is excited to contribute new ideas and energy to student government.

Jonathon Schaumloeffel 

First-Year Senator (Fall)

Jonathon, a first-year Plumbing student from Hingham, Montana, was elected to serve as a First-Year Senator this fall. He is the Secretary for the D&D Club and is preparing for a leadership role with Chi Alpha.

With prior experience as Student Council Vice President and Football Team Captain in high school, Jonathon is eager to bring fresh perspectives to Senate. He is committed to making campus a welcoming "comfy" place where every student feels heard and valued.
