Aiden Perkins

President

Aiden is in his fourth year at MSU-Northern, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration,with minors in Accounting and Small Business Managementfrom Culbertson, Montana. His campus involvements include: ASMSUN Senate (President 25-26, Business Manager 24-25 & At-Large Senator 23-24), Morgan Hall Resident Director (25-26), MacKenzie Hall Resident Assistant (24-25 & 23-24), 2024 Orientation Leader, and MSUN Student Ambassador. He is also a member of several clubs on campus including the Dungeons & Dragons Club, Sweet Grass Society, Northern Business Club, and is a former member of the Lights Football Team (22 & 23).  

AJ Harris

Originally from Edwardsburg, Michigan, AJ is in his third year at Northern pursuing bachelor's degrees in Diesel Technology/Field Maintenance and Trades Management. His campus involvements include: ASMSUN Senate (Vice President 25-26 & 24-25 & First-Year Senator 23-24), Morgan HallAssistant Resident Director (25-26) and MacKenzie Hall Resident Assistant (24-25), 2024 Orientation Leader, Dungeons & Dragons Club, MSUN Student Ambassador, member of the Lights Wrestling team, and multiple on-campus jobs. As the ASMSUN VP, AJ Chairs the Inter-Organizational Council (IOC). He noted that as the VP he hopes to "get IOC more involved throughout the year, rather than just some very specific events". AJ can usually be found on campus working on physical fitness.

Ashton Grover

Business Manager

Ashton is in his 4th year at MSUN,pursing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting from Lewistown, Montana. His campus involvements include: ASMSUN Senate (Business Manager 25-26 & At-Large Senator 24-25), Northern Business Club, and a former member of the Lights Football team (23 and 24). Ashton has interned with State Farm and Scharfe, Kato & Co. (CPA firm) and hopes to bring his experience to this position. He stated, "I have a basic skillset that matches the duties of this position, and I'm always seeking new ways to expand this skillset and learn. I wish to help MSU-Northern become a destination that students want to come to and stay during their academic journey. 

Kaiya Doney

Administrative Assistant

Kaiya is in her 3rd year at MSUN, after transferring from MSU-Billings in the fall of 2023. She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Nursing, after earning an associate’s degree in Nursing last spring. Originally from Columbus, MT, her passion for helping people has led to her academic pursuits, as well as her involvements on campus, which include: ASMSUN Senate (Administrative Assistant 25-26 & 24-25 & At-Large Senator 23-24), MacKenzie Hall Resident Director of 25-26 and Resident Assistant 24-25, 2024 Orientation Leader, Nursing Club (IOC Representative 24-25 & 23-24) and Student Engagement CommitteeStudent Representative. She stated, "My interest in the Administrative Assistant position for ASMSUN comes from a strong desire to contribute to student success and make sure our student government runs efficiently. I believe this role is more than just keeping records and organizing meetings—it's about being a key part of the team that ensures student voices are heard and that important decisions are well-documented." 

Allec Knapton

Senator At-Large (Spring)
Originally from Columbia Falls, MT, Allec is in his 3rd year at MSUN, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Operations Technology with a minor in Marketing: Technical Sales & Service. He was elected to an At-Large Senator position in the spring of 2025. He is also a member of the Lights Football team. Allec noted that has "been in leadership positions before where details matter" and is eager to bring his experience to this position.  

Deserae Toombs

Senator At-Large (Spring)
Deserae is in her second year at MSUN, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Physical Education. Originally from Roundup, Montana, her campus involvements include ASMSUN Senate (At-Large Senator 25-26 & First-Year Senator 24-25), MacKenzie Hall Resident Assistant (25-26), Student Engagement Committee Student Representative, MSUN Student Ambassador, a member of the MSUN Cross Country team and Track team and a student employee with the MSUN Alumni Foundation. She was active in student government in high school and “hope(s) to bring new and fun ideas for things that students can participate in". 

Jonathan Wamsley 

Senator At-Large (Spring)
Originally from Helena, Montana, Jonathan is in his third year at Northern, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education: IT 5-12. In addition to serving as an At-Large Senator on ASMSUN Senate (25-26), his campus involvements include SSS Peer Tutor in Math and Drafting, MorganHall Resident Assistant (25-26), Chi Alpha (Student Leader, Treasurer, and event facilitator for Live Action Clue), and an active participant and frequent event planner in the Dungeons & Dragons Club. In the community, Jonathan is involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Hi-Line and served in several leadership roles in clubs throughout High School (Club liaison for yfc:campus life, parliamentarian and reporter for SkillsUSA). He stated, "I am interested in partnering with other clubs on campus to bring more student engagement in events. I am also interested in encouraging change in the status quo to ensure that students are represented and their interests are furthered on campus".  

Sterling Shelton 

Senator At-Large (Spring)
Sterling is in his third yearpursing bachelor's degrees in Diesel Technology Equipment Management and Automotive Technology at Northern and is a native of Havre, Montana. His campus involvements include: ASMSUN Senate (Senator At-Large 25-26 & 24-25), SkillsUSA - where he helps run the MSUN athletic concessions and assists with TekNoXpo; he participated in the 2025 SkillsUSA National competition and placed 2nd in the country for his automotive skills. He works two part time jobs during the school year, one as an ASE certified Mechanic at Nate's Gona' Fix it and Northern Montana Care Center in Nutritional Service (past 5 years). Sterling is interested in serving as a Senator to "be involved on campus and serve as a voice for my peers for current events, activities, and more. Overall, I want to get other students involved on campus and in school". 

Tabitha VanDalen 

Senator At-Large (Spring)
Tabitha is in her second year at Northern, pursuing an associate’s degree in Metals Manufacturing after earning a certificate in Welding Technology in the spring of 2025. In her hometown of Dillon, MT, she was involved in several clubs including 4-H and Speech and Debate Club. On campus, her involvements include: ASMSUN Student Senate (At-Large Senator 25-26, First-Year Senator 24-25) and MacKenzie Hall Resident Assistant (25-26). She noted, "I like to be involved around campus and earn a reputation as someone who wants to help their fellow students and their college".

Martin is in his third year at MSUN pursuing a degree in Plumbing. Originally from Fairfield, Montana, Martin was looking for ways to be more involved on campus when he ran for ASMSUN Student Senate last year.

Boston McLaughlin 

First-Year Senator (Fall)*
Boston is in his second year of studies in Civil Engineering Technology at MSUN and his hometown is Great Falls, MT. He was elected to a First-Year Senate seat on ASMSUN Student Senate last fall and is a 2025 Orientation Leader. 

Loren Lane 

First-Year Senator (Fall)*
Originally from Augusta, MT, Loren is in his second year at MSUN pursuing a bachelor's degree in Diesel Technology. His campus involvements have included: ASMSUN Senate (First-Year Senator 24-25), a member of the Lights Cross Country and Track Team (24-25) and a 2025 Orientation Leader.
