Students using veterans education benefits under Chapters 30 and 1606 must verify their attendance with the VA each month school is in session. Verification is the action that triggers a benefit check issuance. Keep in mind that the benefit is issued after the month is over.

The earliest you can verify your enrollment is the last calendar day of each month or the last day of the term. If your benefit is direct deposited you can expect to receive payment within 7 days of verifying your school attendance. If you receive paper checks allow up to 14 days.

Verify your attendance online using WAVE (Web Automated Verification of Enrollment), or call the interactive phone line at 1-877-823-2378. When prompted for your VA claim number, provide your social security number.
