Bio:

Dr. Jack Bieger is married to his wife Melanee and they have three adult children, Justin, Melissa, and Christopher. Justin is a federal police officer for FEMA on Mount Weather. Melissa is in business doing part-time bookkeeping and just received her real estate license and is selling real estate in the Richmond, VA area. Chris is in business for himself, Figure 7 Mobile Detailing.

Dr. Bieger has been in law enforcement/security/force protection for nearly 30 years. His experience runs the gambit of city, county, federal, and military law enforcement and security. He retired (June 2015) from the federal government as Chief of Police (2009-2015).  He was Chief of Police at Naval Support Activity Bethesda, home of the new Walter Reed National Military Medical Center from 2009 - 2013, and Ft A.P. Hill from 2013 - 2015.  

Dr. Bieger is also retired from the Navy Reserves after 25 ½ years of service, 12 years active duty and 13 ½ years in the reserves. He became a Master-at-Arms (Navy Police) in 1991 and earned his Small Arms Instructor Code, Military Police Investigator Code, and Navy Journeyman Instructor Code. He retired as a Navy Chief, MAC (E-7) October 2009. 

Throughout his career, Dr. Bieger earned Impact Weapon Instructor, Chemical Agent Instructor, and received certification for CA Council for Private Postsecondary Education Instructor, U.S. Department of Labor National Apprenticeship Program Police Officer Journeyman Card and Drug Recognition Expert.

During his law enforcement career, Dr. Bieger earned his Doctorate from the University of Phoenix in Nov 2015. His BS was Organizational Security and Management, and MS was Administration of Justice and Security. His educational journey started in Aug 2005 and completed in Nov 2015. Dr. Bieger considers himself a lifelong learner.

In his free time, Dr. Bieger teaches weapons safety and employment, basic self-defense, communications, substance abuse awareness, gang violence awareness, and home safety and security. He enjoys public speaking and consulting. He was president of his HOA for 12 years. His other big project is writing a law enforcement training book, when time allows. His hobbies are traveling with his wife, woodworking, camping, hunting, and fishing.
