The Webex Meetings App is being replaced with the Webex App. On March 31st of 2023, Webex will discontinue their Webex Meetings application. This is being done to promote migration to their newer application, Webex (formerly Webex Teams). Users may transition to the Webex application at any time. 

The Webex app offers all the same meeting capabilities and features that you are familiar with in the Meetings app, but includes other features including asynchronous chat/messaging, Team creation capability and more.

WebEx is a cloud-based Web conferencing system where participants can meet remotely and collaborate sharing screens, files and video. Here are just a few examples of how faculty and staff can use WebEx:

  • virtual classroom instruction
  • advising
  • virtual office hours
  • one-on-one or group tutorials
  • committee work

Tip! Download and install the Webex productivity tools to schedule meetings directly in Outlook. 

All MSU-Northern faculty and staff may request a WebEx account by contacting the ITS Help Desk. Once your account is enabled, you can log in with your NetID and password.

  • WebEx Training Center
    • Recommended Uses:  Employee and student training; Distance learning
    • Number of Attendees:  Up to 1000
    • Use examples:  Lecture-style training or teaching sessions, Training or teaching with in-session labs, Training or teaching with break-out sessions or hands-on demos, Events or training requiring attendance reports, Webinars or events requiring registration

WebEx is set up with Single Sign On, so you use your netID credentials to login (e.g. a12b345)
