Welcome to the Website of the Sweetgrass Society at Montana State University-Northern.

The purpose of the Sweetgrass Society organization is to unify and provide for communication among Native American students, to foster a strong sense of cultural identity and to promote activities that bridge Montana State University-Northern with the community of Havre and its Native American residents.

Sweetgrass Society plays an integral role in promoting pride and positive identity in Native American culture among students at Montana State University-Northern. The club supports cultural diversity in the University community and is open to Native Americans and non-Indians. It is a chartered member of the Associated Students of Montana State University-Northern (ASMSUN).

The club meets weekly and hosts a variety of events each year. The Sweetgrass Society sponsors one of the largest powwows in north-central Montana. Members are also involved in other campus events and volunteer for community service.
