My Electronic Award Letter

If you have received an email, postcard or information packet notifying you of your financial aid award, complete the following steps.

Step 1:

Follow these instructions to view your award letter and accept or deny your financial aid:

  1. Click here to go to the Banner website. (a new webpage will open)
  2. Select “Enter Secure Area” and Log in.
  3. Select the “Financial Aid Information” link or select the “Financial Aid” tab located at the top of the page.
  4. Select “My Award Letter”.
  5. Select the Aid Year you would like to view.
  6. You will then see a copy of your award letter. Located at the bottom left hand corner is the “Accept Awards On-line” link, which will take you to accept or decline your Financial Aid.
  7. Once you have completed accepting or denying your financial aid award letter, be sure to log off of your account and close the browser window (you will return here).

If you are a CURRENT student and have previously borrowed a Federal Stafford Loan at MSU-Northern, you are FINISHED! Do NOT proceed to step 2.

Step 2:

Loan Entrance Counseling
If you have Accepted a loan and are a first-time borrower at MSUN you must complete the on-line entrance counseling for federal loans. CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE

Step 3:

Signing Electronic Master Promissory Note
If you are a first-time borrower or if you have switched lenders you need to fill out a Master Promissory note to receive your loan funds. After you click on the link to fill out a Master Promissory note you will need to set up an account before you can log in. CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE
