The best
way to avoid being a bandwidth hog
is to remove all peer-to-peer file-sharing programs
from your computer. Use
the Add/Remove Programs window in the Control Panel to uninstall these
programs just as you would remove any program from your Windows
system.
- Double
click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and then the
Control Panel icon

-or-
use the Start menu: Click Start -> Settings -> Control
Panel.
- Double
click on the Add/Remove Programs icon
.
- In the
Add/Remove Programs window, select Change or Remove Programs
(if it isn't already selected). You will see a list of installed software.
- Click
once to highlight the software you would like to remove, then click
on the Add/Remove button.
- A confirmation
box may appear asking if you want to completely remove the software
and all its components. Click Yes.
- If you
have more than one program to remove, when prompted to reboot the computer,
click No. Then follow steps 1-4 again until you have removed all file
sharing programs.
- Make sure
you reboot the system when you are finished.
Unintalling
programs will not remove any data files (like MP3 files) that you have
on your computer.
