The best way to avoid being a bandwidth hog is to remove all peer-to-peer file-sharing programs from your computer.

The easiest way to stop people from downloading from your computer is to turn your computer off.

To disable all filesharing on your Windows computer:

1. Double click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and then the Control Panel icon
   -or-
   use the Start menu: Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
2. Double-click on the Network icon
3. On the Configuration tab (already showing), click the File and Print Sharing button
4. Turn off File Sharing and Print Sharing by clicking each box to remove check marks

Disabling filesharing will not remove any data files (like MP3 files) that you have on your computer.
