What's a Bandwidth Hog?
Return to Bandwidth & Filesharing page

A bandwidth hog is a discourteous user who sets up their computer to slop up as much of our network's capacity as possible.

Pages in this Section:
  Bandwith/Filesharing
>Bandwidth Hogs
  Spyware
  Uninstall Programs:
    Windows
    Mac
  Disable All Filesharing:
    Windows
    Mac

OK, sometimes hogs aren't being rude on purpose--some hogs wallow in their ignorance, not realizing that downloading just a handful of MP3s a couple of weeks ago may have made their very own computers into network servers, sharing those files with people from all over the world - from Washington to Florida to France to China!

If you know any hogs, tell them how to ditch their file-sharing programs and remove spyware.
