Do
I need to buy a Network Card if I have a modem?
Yes,
if you want to have a direct, high-speed connection to
the Internet. If you choose, you may continue to use some other Internet
Service Provider. However, if you purchase and install a network card,
you will keep your phone line open and also have a faster connection to
the Internet.

Do
I really need my own computer at MSU-Northern?
Not at all. There are several computer labs on campus for accessing Northern
services, the Internet, various software applications, and printing. However,
they are not open 24 hours. During midterms and finals, these labs can
become crowded. Students who prefer to work alone or when most labs are
closed should seriously consider bringing their own computers.

We do not provide support for other hardware or software problems.
