Accessing E-books from the
Library's Catalog...
There are two types of electronic books in the
catalog--NetLibrary books and U.S. governmental publications.
To access NetLibrary books:
- When you do a search in
the library's Catalog and see a LC call number followed by *EBOOK--this may
be a NetLibrary book.
- Click on Full Details
button.
- Scroll down to Northern's
URL-- "Internet access: Licensed access for MSU-Northern"
- Click on the URL.
- A new window should open
that has a NetLibrary logo in the upper left-hand corner. You should
now see
the cover of the book on the screen.
- Click on "Browse this
eBook online" .
- Read the book by using
page #, |>, or table of contents.
- PRINTING IS DONE ONE PAGE
AT A TIME!
- Make sure Print Option is
set to "only the selected frame". If the wrong thing prints;
click in the frame with the book's text, then try printing again.
To access Governmental
publications:
- When you do a search in
the library's Catalog and see a SuDoc call number followed by *EBOOK--this may an electronic document title.
- Click on Full Details
button.
- Scroll down to the URL-- "Internet access:
URL"
- Click on the URL.
- A new window should open.
Government publications may be available in a variety of formats, including
PDF, HTML, word processor or spreadsheet.
