New Coaching Staff
Winter 2003

Mike Erickson, new women's basketball coach and phys. ed. instructor, has five years coaching experience. Assistant coach for men's basketball last year, he took over as the interim coach for women's basketball in February and was hired full time this year. Before coming to MSU Northern, Erickson taught and coached boys basketball in Wolf Point. He earned his B.S. from Eastern Montana College and is working toward his master's degree in sports administration.

Warren Quick, new assistant women's basketball coach, replaces Joan Steffan. He has been in Havre for a year, and was a volunteer assistant with the men's basketball team last year. Quick coached for two years in Circle and was the recreational director for the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Treatment Center. Quick is finishing his B.S. in Health Promotion at Northern.

Shawn Huse replaces Brian Harrell as head men's basketball coach. He has seven years of coaching experience, two high school and five as a college assistant. Huse has made one trip to the NCAA DR National Tournament and has two conference tournament championships and two trips to the NAIA national tournament to his credit. He holds degrees in engineering science, mathematics and education.

Nate Larson, assistant men's basketball coach, coached for three years in Whitehall and Butte Central high schools and Montana Tech before coming to Northern. He replaces Mike Erickson. Larson holds a B.S. from Montana Tech.
