Student/Faculty Communication Meeting

January 28, 2005

Lisa Sheresky O’Neil called the meeting to order.

Amy is sending an email out to all Level II students to inform them of all the information discussed at this meeting. Students will respond by email and those emails will be counted as votes.   Lisa explained that those students who have chose not to attend due to other responsibilities will be able to give their input this way.

Jason from the Sub offered to do meat tray, salad and beverages for $5.00 per plate. Another suggestion was Lasagna.  There will be a $40.00 clean up charge. The level I students have volunteered to help with serving, one student has volunteered to sing, others volunteered to hand out pamphlets.

Pinning will be at 1:00 p.m. Please be there by 12:30 for the line up which will be alphabetical. Rehearsal for pinning will be held at 11:00 a.m. Each campus may elect one person to read their Thank you notes.  Thank You notes should be typed or written on 3x5 card. Cards should state:

Your name here is being pinned by person pinning you

Thank you………………….

There is space available in Morgan Hall for 80 people at $10.00 a night. Bring your own linen etc. Please contact Nita if you have any one interested in staying at Morgan Hall.

Last year students lit candles prior to the prayer. It was a very nice touch. They all stood in a half circle and started lighting the candles on one end and went around the circle. Then Mary Pappas recited the prayer.

Please send suggestions for names of speakers and songs for pinning. There will be three songs. A song will play as you walk in, the speaker will converse, then another song will play, you will be pinned and then one last song as you walk out of the auditorium.

A Lewistown student has a family member who has volunteer to play the Bagpipes at pinning free of charge if that is something we are interested in.

PK has volunteered to put programs together. Lisa also suggests that if you want to, you can put something together and run it through the nursing printer in Havre.

Basic Pin is approximately $29.00. Students normally wear basic white scrub tops; the cost is normally very inexpensive.

It was a suggestion that the student’s use threaded discussion for talking over pinning decisions. Lisa feels that threaded discussions normally don’t work well, she suggests that the students send emails as a way to handle the discussions.

The faculty feels food is important for families rather than just cake and cookies. People will be driving home and something more nutritious before they take off for home.
