Program Overview
Carpentry Technology Students getting hands on training

MSU-Northern’s Northern’s Carpentry Technology program offers practical hands-on technology skills, mixed with electrical fundamentals, technical graphics, welding, and math. The experience offered at Northern will allow you to learn valuable work experience. Northern strives to provide an environment that fosters excellence in learning and one that nurtures discovery of knowledge for advancement, academic excellence in the classroom, and personal growth through collaboration and teamwork.

The construction industry employs more people and contributes more to the nation’s economy than any other industry. This means that there will always be a source of well paying jobs and career opportunities.

Opportunity is driven by knowledge and ability, which are in turn driven by education and training. This program of the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) was designed and developed by the construction industry for the construction industry. It is the only nationally-accredited, competency-based construction training program in the United States. A competency-based program requires that the trainee demonstrate the ability to safely perform specific job-related tasks.
