About MSU-Northern

History

Applied Technology Center

The 2001 Montana Legislature approved $2 million in bonding for a proposed Applied Technology Center and authorized a total project cost of $5 million. MSU-Northern approached the Legislature with the proposition that this building would be a partnership between the state, federal government and private sector. To receive the appropriation, the university needed to raise at least $2 million from other sources. Some of the additional major funding has come from Federal Economic Development Administration and the BNSF Foundation.
