Community Health Path

Students choosing the Community Health Education concentration will take courses related to public health, community health, and health care settings, which will include planning, administering, and evaluating health education programs. Students are also, encouraged to seek internships within health education programs at the local and state-levels. Upon completing the Community Health Education program, students will be able to: 

1. Assess the needs and capacity for individual, community, and worksite health.

2. Plan health education and promotion interventions and communication.

3. Conduct and evaluate health education and promotion interventions and communication.

4. Identify current or emerging health issues requiring advocacy for policy, systems, or environmental change.

5. Seek certification and employment in health education, community health, and public health settings. 

Career Opportunities for Integrated Health Sciences Graduates

Graduates of MSU-Northern's Integrated Health Sciences program pursue employment as health educators, consultants, community health specialists and health coordinators. They find jobs at government agencies, non-profit organizations, hospitals, and community-based organizations. Many graduates also, apply to graduate programs throughout the country in allied health and health related programs, leading to careers , such as physical therapy, and athletic training.
