How many hours can I work?

A student working under the Work-Study program must not exceed the total work-study award.

No on-campus student employee can work over 20 hours per week during the academic year (August - May), or over 40 hours per week in the summer.

Remember...

Your on-campus job is a REAL job, and you need to treat it that way!! Be sure to take your responsibilities seriously...

  • show up for work when scheduled
  • communicate with your supervisor and fellow workers.

The department that you are working for depends on you being there and it creates problems when you do not show up.

This job can be a good reference when you are finished with school and looking for a full-time position. It also gives you the opportunity to learn good work habits. Take pride in the job that you do.
