Press Release : MSU-Northern’s Nursing Accreditation Renewed

Last week MSU-Northern received notice from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission’s (NLNAC) that during their February 2008 meeting the accreditation for the associate’s degree in nursing had been renewed to 2013 without conditions.

Northern’s baccalaureate in nursing degree has been accredited with the NLNAC since 1991 and their associate’s degree since 1992.

Sharon J. Tanner, Executive Director of NLNAC stated in her affirmation letter, “On behalf of the Commission, we thank you and your colleagues for your commitment to quality nursing education. By choosing to have accreditation by NLNAC, your nursing program demonstrates a continued interest in having the program measured against the highest national standards of quality in nursing education.”

Dr. Mary Pappas, Director of Northern’s nursing program commented, “We are very pleased that our accreditation has been affirmed. It is the result of a lot of hard work on the part of the faculty and the administration’s commitment to the program.”
