Northern Professor Develops Writing Quiz to Help Teachers

Dr. Fred Smiley has begun working with the Office of Public Instruction (OPI) to develop an on-line course to help people improve their writing skills. Dr. Smiley has identified the 13 most common rhetorical writing errors that people make. Then he created an interactive Writing Quiz with 20 Questions to guide teachers through the errors. He shared these resources with peers at universities across the nation, and several colleagues have validated its effectiveness and are using this information to support their own course work.
