If you visit MSU-Northern's bustling Business Office, one of the hardworking people you might encounter is Accountant/ Budget Officer, Chris Wendland. After completing his BS in Business Technology at MSU-Northern, Wendland had to answer the classic, often life-altering question many college graduates wonder, "Where should I work?" Lucky for Northern, Wendland decided that Havre really does "have it." In his own words, Wendland explained his decision this way: "Northern offered a great career opportunity in a community where I wanted to be." Wendland just could not pass up the combination of a solid career and welcoming community, so eleven years ago Wendland began his commitment to Northern's success. He's been dedicated to the institution ever since.

During his time at Northern, thus far, Wendland has learned a lot about MSUN and the Havre area. He's noticed the strong connection between MSUN and the community. The mutual appreciation and support, he has witnessed, remains one of the most satisfying parts of Wendland's experience at Northern. Concerning the most enjoyable facet of his employment at Northern, Wendland stated, "I enjoy working within a system that works from a state level, a university system level, and a campus level. It gives me (and others) the opportunity to work with people at each of these levels and gain understanding and knowledge from their perspectives."

Wendland and his wife Amy have made Havre their home for these eleven years with MSUN. When they are not busy working, they enjoy spending time with family, kayaking, traveling, and supporting their favorite football teams.
