Requesting Service
When contacting ITS with a request for service related to MSU-Northern telephones, you can reduce the amount of time needed for ITS to get on-site, by providing some basic information:
- Where the telephone is located. Building and room number.
- A description of the problem. Instead of: "My phone doesn’t work!" Give more details: "When I pick up my receiver I hear a sound like a key is being pressed and I cannot make any calls from my set. I first noticed the problem after I spilled my coffee on the keypad."
- The department & person responsible for the set, in case charges are incurred.
Requesting a New Phone
When ordering a new telephone, have the following information ready:
- The type of telephone you want. MSUN users can from these three phones:
M2006 Single Line Basic Telephone
M2008 Multi-Line Handsfree Caller ID
M2616 Multi-Line Handsfree Caller ID
- Where the telephone will be located. Building and room number.
- Who the phone is for.
- An Index number to charge the phone to.
