WebEx

Connect to WebExWebEx is a cloud-based Web conferencing system where participants can meet remotely and collaborate sharing screens, files and video. Here are a few examples of how faculty and staff can use WebEx: to bring guest speakers into classrooms; hold virtual office hours; provide one-on-one or group tutorials; participate in committee work.

All MSU-Northern faculty and staff may request a WebEx account by contacting the ITS Help Desk. Once your account is enabled, you can log in with your NetID and password.

Get Started

Before scheduling your first meeting or event, decide which service is the best option for your needs:

  • Meeting Center & Personal Meeting Room - Present information, share applications and collaborate on projects, all in real-time.
    • Recommended Uses: Collaborative sessions, interenal and external meetings, project coordination & demos
    • Number of Attendees: Up to 500
    • Use examples: Spur of the moment informal meetings, Scheduled meetings, Recurring meetings, Group discussions/brainstorming sessions, Any meeting where 1 or more participant needs to attend by phone, Virtual office hours, Bring a guest speaker into the classroom, one-on-one recruiting or advising
  • WebEx Training Center - Deliver interactive Online learning sessions, such as classes, training and e-learning.
    • Recommended Uses: Employee and student training; Distance learning
    • Number of Attendees: Up to 1000
    • Use examples: Lecture-style training or teaching sessions, Training or teaching with in-session labs, Training or teaching with break-out sessions or hands-on demos, Events or training requiring attendance reports, Webinars or events requiring registration
