Columbia Encyclopedia is an online version of the Columbia Encyclopedia. 

Expanded Academic ASAP (1980- ) is a scholarly full-text and bibliographic database with coverage of astronomy, religion, law, history, psychology, humanities, current events, sociology, communications and the general sciences.  

Gale Literary Databases includes Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Literary Criticism Select and the Dictionary of Literary  Biography.

General Reference Center Gold (1980-) is a general interest/business full-text and bibliographic database that includes magazines, newspapers, and reference books in business, industry, current events, the arts, science, entertainment, etc. 

GPO Catalog of Publications [Government Pubs] (1976- ) is a bibliographic database of U.S. federal government documents published by the Government Printing Office. Many of these are available in the library.  They can be found in the Documents Section on the Lower Level arranged by their SuDoc number. 

InfoTrac Custom Newspapers includes the full-text of 100+ National and International newspapers, including the Great Falls Tribune and the New York Times.

InfoTrac OneFile "A one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies, humanities, law, literature and art, politics, science, social science, sports, technology, and many general interest topics. Millions of full-text articles, many with images. Updated daily."

Montana Online Newspapers, TV & Radio includes links to Montana's online newpapers, and TV and radio stations.

Montana States' Periodical Index (1983-1995) includes magazines published in or about Montana.

Newspaper Indexes has links to state, national and international indexes.  Some indexes include full-text articles.

PapersFirst (1993- ) is a bibliographic index to conference papers. 

ProceedingsFirst (1993- ) is an index to conferences and workshops but not the individual papers.

MLA  (1963- ) International Bibliography covers literature, language, linguistics, and folklore. It includes journal articles, series, monographs, dissertations, bibliographies, and proceedings. It only includes citations, not abstracts or full-text. 

WorldCat(1200- ) is a catalog of books, periodicals, and other materials held by MSU-Northern and hundreds of other libraries around the country and some international libraries.

Business & Company Resource Center  "Business and Company Resource Center is a fully integrated resource bringing together company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies and periodicals. Search this database to find detailed company and industry news and information."

Business Source Premier  "provides full text for over 2,470 scholarly business journals covering management, economics, finance, accounting, international business and much more."

General Reference Center Gold (1980-) is a general interest/business full-text and bibliographic database that includes magazines, newspapers, and reference books in business, industry, current events, the arts, science, entertainment, etc.

Hoover's Online is "delivers comprehensive company, industry, and market intelligence that drives business growth. Hoover’s provides sales, marketing, business development, and recruiting professionals with the global business intelligence they need to prospect and prepare for client meetings, sales presentations, vendor and partner negotiations, and other business opportunities."

LegalTrac indexes approximately 875 legal journals, newsletters, and law reviews. 

PROMT (1995- )Predicasts Overview of Markets and Technology, is a database for researching companies, products, technologies, and markets. It includes summaries and full text from nearly 1,000 business and trade journals, industry newsletters, newspapers, market research studies, news releases, and investment and brokerage firm reports.

Education:

ERIC (1966- ) is a bibliographic and abstracts database covering the field of education. It includes citations to educational journal articles and educational documents. Most of the educational documents are filed by their ED number in the microfiche cabinets on the Main Floor. Many of the documents published since 1996 are also available in full-text format. Three free websites with ERIC are ERIC, Educator's Reference Desk, and SearchERIC.  See also the list of journals indexed.

Professional Collection includes 300+ full-text journals for professional educators.

PsycInfo (1887- ), the Psychological Abstracts database, provides access to the international literature in psychology and related behavioral and social sciences, including psychiatry, sociology, anthropology, education, pharmacology, and linguistics. This bibliographic database includes abstracts but not full text. PsycInfo is a larger database than PsycLit. Visit APA's site for more information. 

Test Reviews Online Index (Buros) [9th edition, 1985- ] is a comprehensive index to the Mental Measurements Yearbook series.  The reviews can be found in the MSU-Northern Libraries print collection of Mental Measurements Yearbooks.  These books are located on the main level in the Reference collection.  The call number is REF LB3060.3.M46.  An additional index for educational tests is ETS Test Collection (TestLink).

MSUN Mirror Center is a collection of web resources designed to help MSUN education students and faculty, as well as Hi-Line area teachers, incorporate technology into the learning process.

InfoTrac Juvenile Indexes can be used to search magazines, newspapers, and reference books for information on current events, the arts, science, popular culture, health, etc.

CINAHL (Ebsco) (1982- ) provides indexing and abstracting for over 1,600 current nursing and allied health journals and other publications dating back to 1982.  This version of the CINAHL database includes a limited number of full-text articles, and links to articles in other Ebsco databases, to which this library subscribes.

Encyclopedia of Life Sciences is a reference work including life science topics.

Health and Wellness Resource Center "Use this Resource Center to find magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on: Fitness, Pregnancy, Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Alcohol and Drug abuse, Prescription Drugs, Herbal remedies, and alternative or complementary treatments, etc. Included are links to diet, cancer, and health assessment sites as well as government databases. Material contained in this Resource Center is intended for informational purposes only.

Health Reference Center-Academic (1994- ) includes full-text and citations to articles on fitness, nursing, pregnancy, medicine, nutrition, diseases, public health, occupational health & safety, alcohol and drug abuse, HMOs, Prescription Drugs, and more. 

Journals @ OVID Index and Database (1996- ) "The database is an aggregate of hundreds of scientific, technical, and medical journals from over 50 publishers and societies.  Journals@Ovid is updated daily to ensure access to the most recently published issues. Journals@Ovid offers coverage from 1996 to the present for many journals, and the coverage of some journals dates back as far as 1993."

Medline (OCLC)  (1965- ) is the premiere medical abstracts database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences. 

MedlinePLUS  "has extensive information from the National Institutes of Health and other trusted sources on about 500 diseases and conditions. There are also lists of hospitals and physicians, a medical encyclopedia and dictionaries, health information in Spanish, extensive information on prescription and nonprescription drugs, health information from the media, and links to thousands of clinical trials."

PubMED provides access to MEDLINE database and several other databases that information pertaining to DNA and protein sequences, 3-D protein structure data, population study data sets, and assemblies of complete genomes in an integrated system.

Agricola (Ebsco) is a bibliographic index for agricultural topics. This version of the index includes some full-text articles.

ALLData Online is an automotive database containing automotive diagnostic and repair information.  Access the latest Technical Service Bulletins and print wiring diagrams on 8 1/2" x 11" paper.  NOTE:  This database is only accessible on-campus.  There is no proxy access for this database due to licensing restrictions.  **This database was purchased with funds from the Student Library Fee.**

Applied Science & Technology Abstracts (OCLC) (1983-  ) is a bibliographic index that covers articles on engineering and the physical sciences in trade and industrial publications, journals issued by professional and technical societies, and specialized subject periodicals, as well as special issues such as buyers' guides, directories, and conference proceedings in over 410 periodicals. 

Auto Repair Reference Center contains complete automotive repair information supplied by Nichols Publishing, publisher of Chilton information.  Auto Repair Reference Center contains information on most major manufacturers of domestic and imported vehicles, with repair information for most vintage makes starting as far back as 1954.

Biological & Agricultural Index (1983- ) is a bibliographic database that cites articles from more than 250 periodicals. BAI indexes English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere. Periodical coverage includes a wide range of scientific journals, from
popular to professional, that pertain to biology and agriculture. About 45 percent of the focus is on agriculture.

Computer Database (1995- ) is a bibliographic and full-text database covering computer-related product introductions, news, and reviews in areas such as hardware, software, electronics, engineering, communications and the application of technology.
