The
Programs are federally funded programs dedicated to helping first-generation, low-income students succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. These programs are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and are referred to as the
programs (initially just three programs). While student financial aid programs help overcome financial barriers to higher education,
programs help overcome class, social, and cultural barriers to higher education. Montana State University–Northern has three
programs:
Aim for the stars. You might not reach them,
But you will fly higher than

Funds are awarded to institutions of higher education to provide opportunities for academic development, assist students with basic college requirements, and to motivate students toward the successful completion of the postsecondary education. Student Support Services (SSS) projects also may provide grant aid (when available) to current SSS participants who are receiving Federal Pell Grants(#84.063). The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants.
