Google provides e-mail, calendaring and document sharing services to all MSU-Northern students. This is your official e-mail account for ALL University related matters. All Northern students have a email address that is automatically generated when they register for classes. To access these applications, you will need your NetID and password. If you don’t know your NetID, you can retrieve it and set your password by logging on to the Password reset page (you will need your MyInfo ID number and PIN) You can also access your e-mail account via MyPortal at: https://myportal.montana.edu/ MyPortal provides access to a wide variety of information, including your Google email, critical announcements, news headlines, file sharing, chat, calendars, and more. Your username for logging onto the MyPortal is the same as the username you use for logging onto computers in the labs. If you don't know what your username is, please follow the directions found in the right hand column on this page in the section titled "Finding out what your username is" MyPortal Usernames: In most instances, but not always, your username for MyPortal access (where your email is) is determined by taking your first name (according to what the campus registrar’s office has on file) and your entire last name with no spaces, dashes, apostrophes, or quotation marks. For example:
Robert Benjamin Ba’zooka, Jr.'s username would be: Robert.Bazooka If more than one person has the same name as yours, or your name is very long, your username will probably not follow the firstname.lastname format. To find out what your username is, please follow the directions found at the top of right hand column on this page: "Finding out what your username is". Your email address is: MyPortal Passwords: For NEW students, your password the very first time you log in is your birth date, in this format: MMDDYY
For example: You will be required to change your password the first time you logon. If this doesn't work or you've forgotten your password you can reset your password by logging on to the Password reset page (you will need your MyInfo ID number and PIN) |
Log into MyInfo (Banner Web) by clicking the Navigate Northern drop list found in the upper right hand corner of this web page and select Banner Web - MyInfo. · Click on Enter Secure Area This page will tell you what your Portal username is, and give you other information about the Portal. If you can't get logged into MyInfo to get your Portal username, contact the Registrar's office and tell them you can't log into MyInfo. Information about passwords can be found here. There is quick reference guide is available on the portal login screen. Once you log on, there is a tutorial and other helpful documentation available on the Help tab. You can also click the Help icon in the upper right corner of any page for training and help. |
