FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

BILLINGS – Players from Montana State-Northern and Montana Western were named Frontier Conference Football Players of the Week.

 

Offensive Player of the Week: Derrick Pluff, Montana Western, 5’10”, 185 lbs, junior, running back, from Polson, Mont. In Montana Western’s 45-30 win over Rocky Mountain College, Pluff rushed for 217 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. He also had one kickoff return for 20 yards. Pluff’s 217 yards rushing is a new school record. Other players nominated: Garren Hammons of MSU-Northern, Drew Hedrick of Rocky Mountain, Casey Kelly of Montana Tech, Travis Morscheck of Eastern Oregon and Bryson Pelc of Carroll College.

 

Defensive Player of the Week: Albert Distajo, Montana Western, 5’9”, 185 lbs, senior, safety, from Nanakuli, Hawaii. In Montana Western’s 45-30 win over Rocky Mountain College, Distajo had four solo tackles, six assisted tackles, two pass interceptions and one break-up. Both of his interceptions led to Bulldog touchdowns.  Also nominated Marc Bradshaw of Rocky Mountain, Billy Glennon of Montana Tech, Owen Koeppen of Carroll College, Stetson Koffman of Montana State-Northern and Kyle Witty of Eastern Oregon.

 

Special Teams Player of the Week: Don Saisbury, Montana State-Northern, 6’2”, 235 lbs, senior, running back/punter, from Helena, Mont. In MSU-Northern’s 27-13 come-from-behind win over Eastern Oregon, Saisbury had five punts for 247 yards including a school record breaking 84 yard punt. Also nominated, Thomas Akers of Eastern Oregon, Colter Bennett of Montana Tech, Nick Milodragovich of Carroll College, John Sullivan of Montana Western and Casey Worth of Rocky Mountain.
