FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

BILLINGS – Players from Carroll College, Montana Tech and Montana State-Northern were named Frontier Conference Football Players of the Week.

 

Offensive Player of the Week: Corey Warner, Montana Tech, 6’2”, 225 lbs, senior, running back, from Deary, Idaho. In Tech’s 28-21 win over Montana Western, Warner rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns on 37 carries. He also caught two passes for 20 yards. Other players nominated: Pono Mathews of Montana Western, Ian O’Brien of Eastern Oregon, Brian Sloan of Carroll College and Michael Thomas of Rocky Mountain College.

 

Defensive Player of the Week: Stetson Koffman, Montana State-Northern, 5’11”, 208 lbs, sophomore, linebacker, from Helena, Mont.  In #22 MSU-Northern’s 10-3 loss at #2 Carroll College, Koffman had 12 solo tackles, four assisted tackles, two tackles of losses of 17 yards, one quarterback sack and one pass hurry.  Also nominated Marc Bradshaw of Rocky Mountain, Corey Dunn of Eastern Oregon, Stephen O’Neal of Montana Western, Britt Siddoway of Montana Tech and Cody Zimmerman of Carroll College.

 

Special Teams Player of the Week: Zach Thiry, Carroll College, 6’2”, 215 lbs, junior, punter/kicker, from Boise, Idaho. In #2 Carroll’s 10-3 win over #22 Montana State-Northern, Thiry had 10 punts for 452 yards including a career best 76-yard punt. One punt was downed within the 10-yard line. In kick offs, he had three kick-offs for 210 yards. Also nominated, Thomas Akers of Eastern Oregon, Andrew Frizzell of Montana Western, J.T. McIntyre of Montana Tech, Don Saisbury of Montana State-Northern and Casey Worth of Rocky Mountain.
