With the conference tournaments in the books, the Frontier Conference released both the men’s and women’s All-Conference teams, and Montana State University-Northern was represented with three players making the lists.

On the women’s side, MSU-N senior DeLayne Johnston earned First-Team All-Conference honors for the second straight season. Johnston, a 6-0 forward from Richey, finished her final season at MSU-N averaging 16 points and eight rebounds per game. She also had 13 double-doubles this year for the Skylights, who went 17-12 overall and finished fifth in the regular season standings.

Former Chester standout and MSU-N senior Michele VanDyke also repeated as a second-team member this year. VanDyke was one of the Skylights’ best defensive players this season, and she averaged nearly 10 points and seven rebounds per game for MSU-N.

Malta native and former Havre High star Jolene Fuzesy earned her second straight first-team honor as well. Fuzesy was second in the Frontier in scoring as a sophomore for NAIA tourney bound Carroll College. Fuzesy also was among the NAIA’s leading 3-point shooters this season.

As expected, UM-Western senior Kathrine Sunwall was named the league MVP as well as being named Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. Sunwall leads the NAIA in blocked shots this year.

Montana Tech’s Jessie Depell and Carroll College’s Elly Bruursema were named Co-Freshman of the Year, and Tech’s Rebecca Gimeno was tabbed the league’s Newcomer of the Year. LC State head coach Brian Orr was named Coach of the Year.

On the men’s side, MSU-N junior transfer Delvaughn Tinned earned first-team honors after he finished third in the league in scoring. Tinned averaged almost 17 points per game in his first season at MSU-N and was among the league leaders in 3-point shooting.

League regular season and tournament champion LC State ran away with most of the postseason awards. LC State junior Mike Gordy and senior Teran Lee shared Player of the Year honors, and Lee was also named the league’s Newcomer of the Year. Napolean Gordon, a freshman point guard for the Warriors ran away with the Freshman of the Year voting and Warriors head coach Tim Walker

was named Coach of the Year.          Westminster’s Rob Holcombe was named the Frontier’s Defensive Player of the Year.
