BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

FRONTIER – Players from Montana State-Northern and Rocky Mountain College were named Frontier Conference Basketball Players of the Week.

Men’s Player of the Week: Jordan Mathews, Montana State-Northern, 6-4, Sr, G, Salt Lake City, Utah. The Lights won two at home beating Kings University 88-57 and Concordia University of Canada 91-68. Mathews averaged 22 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and one steal. He hit 85% of his field goals (17 of 20) 3 of 4 three point field goals and 7 of 10 free throws. Also nominated David Ellis, Rocky Mountain, T.J. Scarbrough of Montana Tech, and Eric Durrett of Lewis-Clark,

Women’s Player of the Week: Alyssa Root, Rocky Mountain College, 5-10, junior guard from Billings, Montana. The Bears went 2-1 on the week, beating Minot State 65-56, Holy Names College 69-51 and losing to MSU-Northern 59-66. Root averaged 18 points and nine rebounds per game. She had four assists, two blocks and two steals. Root hit 55% of her field goals, 50% of her three point field goals and was a perfect 2 for 2 from free throw line. Also nominated, Lindsey Scott, UM-Western, Marcie Alzheimer of Montana Tech, Aundrea Morrison of Lewis-Clark, Jolene Fuzesy of Carroll College and Jaci Henry of MSU-Northern.
