BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

BILLINGS – Players from MSU-Northern and the University of Montana Western were named Frontier Conference Basketball Players of the Week.

Men’s Player of the Week: Wes Morales, University of Montana, 6-4, Jr, F/G, Worden, MT. UM-Western won two games on the road. The Bulldogs beat the University of Great Falls 89-85 and MSU-Northern 70-54. Morales averaged 21 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. He hit 65% of his field goals (17 of 26); was 3 from 3 from long range and hit 5 of 8 free throws. Also nominated: Davin Blixt, Montana Tech; Jordan Matthews, MSU-Northern; Chris Nickolei, Rocky Mountain; Jared Tikker, Lewis-Clark; Brandon Sholly, Westminster College and Travis Williams, Carroll College.

Women’s Player of the Week: Jaci Heny, Montana State-Northern, 5-6, Sr, G, Powell, Wyoming. Northern won two games at home beating Montana Tech 92-68 and #9 UM-Western 72-57. Heny averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and seven steals per game. She hit 52% (11-21) of her field goals, 60% of her three-point field goals (6-10) and hit 19 of 20 free throws.
