FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Montana State University-Northern women’s basketball coach Chris Mouat has announced the signing of Becky Sorenson to play for the Skylights next season.  Sorenson is a 5’6” guard from Western Wyoming Community College and a 2004 graduate of West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This season, Sorenson has helped lead the Spartans to an 16-3 overall record.  She is currently averaging 11.5 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.6 steals per game.  For her career, she has shot nearly 75% from the free throw line and just under 45% from the three-point line.

According to Mouat, Sorenson will give some immediate help at both the point and shooting guard positions.  He said, “Becky brings a great shooting touch to the program.  She is a very effective three-point shooter and solid from the free throw line.  She also takes good care of the basketball, has a strong understanding of the game, and is a competitor.  We are looking forward to having her in a Skylight uniform next season.”
