MSU-Northern defeated the U. of Great Falls 39-6 but that was not Northern’s goal; we felt that we could win all 10 matches and we were close losing the final match.  It was a great crowd with a lot of enthusiasm and it was nice to only travel two hours for a dual and be home by midnight.

 

Brian Luna at 133 secured the LIGHTS fastest fall by pinning Spencer Griffiths in :37 seconds.  Stryder Davis had a little weight mismanagement and it affected his performance but it was an eye opener for him, I am sure he will not let it occur again.   The LIGHTS moved to 9-1 in duals and were without the service of 184 pounder Jesse Juarez who is out with a back injury, his recovery is uncertain at this time. 

 

Northern travels to Cleveland, OH this Saturday to compete in the National Duals on Sunday and will wrestle #7 Cumberland College, #3 Missouri Valley College and #1 Lindenwood University.  It will be a good test to find out where Northern is at the National level and what we need to work on before NAIA National Tournament on March 4th & 5th.
