Northern moved to 5-0 with a dual
win over Dickinson State University last night, 11-25-03 winning 40-9. It was not pretty but in defense for the
Bluehawks, they had three starters out of their line-up at 165, 174 and
184. Northern has three duals left this
semester and two of them are looking very tight. On December 4th, the Lights will dual the NAIA defending National
Champions Missouri Valley College and NCAA D-II Central Washington U. The Missouri Valley dual on paper has each
of us winning five matches, so majors and pins and going to be very
significant. On Saturday, December
13th, the #1 ranked NJCAA team, Northwest College will be visiting Havre, again
on paper each team is favored at five weights.
Northern's dual strength will increase second semester with the addition
of two starters.
Other than duals, Northern will be
participating in the Las Vegas Invitational consisting of 54 teams on December
5 and 6. We have some individuals with
high expectations for this years tournament.
It would be nice to be in the top 15 again, Northern's highest team
finishes have been 15th and 16th place in 1999 and 2000. I have attached the results from our
Dickinson dual.
Have a happy Thanksgiving,
David Ray
