BUTTE - Josh Johnson and Corey Edmundson, both of Montana Tech, and Tanner
Cochrell of Montana State-Northern were named the football players of the week
Monday in the Frontier Conference.
Johnson, a 5-foot-7, 165-pound freshman running back from Frenchtown,
carried 35 times for 300 yards and three touchdowns as Tech blanked Rocky
Mountain, 47-0, Saturday. That broke the Tech single-game rushing record of 265
yards, set by Don Heater in 1970.
Edmundson, a 6-0, 256-pound sophomore lineman from Harrison, chalked up
three quarterback harries and caused one fumble.
Northern's Cochrell returned four kicks for 78 yards in Northern's 57-0 loss
to Carroll. He's a 5-8, 180-pound freshman from Drummond.
