Lewis-Clark State is favored to win the men's and women's
basketball titles in the Frontier Conference this coming season, according to a
recently released coaches' poll.
The Lewiston, Idaho, school was picked ahead of Carroll College in the men's
ranks and the University of Montana-Western in the women's balloting.
Rocky Mountain College finished fifth out of eight teams in the men's
voting. The Lady Bears were selected as the Frontier's sixth-best team. Rocky's
men have won the conference's postseason tournament the past two years.
Points were awarded from seven for first place to one for last. Coaches were
not allowed to vote for their own teams.
L-C State received six first-place votes in the men's poll and five in the
women.
Rocky's men will open their season on Oct. 31 at South Dakota Tech. The Lady
Bears play visiting Jamestown College on Oct. 31 in the Fortin Center.
