Saints shoot out the lights on MSU-N's season
BUTTE - Like an avalanche or a tornado, it came quick and it came
without much warning. That is how the Montana State
University-Northern Lights must have felt Friday night in their
92-49 loss to Carroll College in the semfinals of the Frontier
Conference tournament in Butte.

Lights beat the clock and Western in opening round
In the second-to-last week of the regular season, the Montana State
University-Northern Lights won back-to-back games on last-second
shots.
Then, last Saturday the Lights stumbled into the Frontier Conference
tournament by losing to last-place UGF in Havre.
But, on Thursday night at the MAC in Butte, the Lights' flare for
winning games at the last possible second was back in full force as
junior Marcus Wilson laid in a shot as time expired, lifting MSU-N
to a 76-74 first-round victory over fifth-seeded UM-Western.

Lights begin postseason ride tonight against Bulldogs
Every college basketball team's goal at the beginning of the season
is to be playing in a postseason tournament. The Montana State
University-Northern Lights are no different.
But, because of an up-and-down season, the Lights are now faced with
the daunting task of having to win the 2006 Frontier Conference
tournament in order to keep their postseason dreams alive.

Two consecutive road losses usually spell disaster in college
basketball, but that wasn't the case for the Montana State
University-Northern men's basketball team this weekend in Los
Angeles.

Lights Team Basketball camp on Saturday and Sunday for local
high school basketball teams. The camp will feature 12 high
school teams with varsity players from around the area. There
will be round robin play on Saturday afternoon with a
situational tournament on Saturday evening. |

Montana State University-Northern men's basketball coach Shawn
Huse has added a trio of recruits for the upcoming season,
including a pair of Montana players. Class A state tournament
most valuable player Anthony Minson, Class B All-State guard
Dustin Feasel, and Ronnie Simpson, a 6-4 guard/forward, from
Cuyamaca Community College in California have all signed
letter-of-intents to join the Lights. |

local hoop fans. Rick Brown of Belgrade, one of the top scorers
