What is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is the Vande Bogart Library. I love going to the library to work on homework any time during the week and even on the weekends. It is so nice to be able to go somewhere where you can grab a cup of coffee, (from the great Coffee Bar) and work on your homework and be undisturbed. The library has Group Study Rooms available if you and a couple friends wanted to work together. The study rooms are great because you will not interrupt the people around you. The Vande Bogart Library is just an all around a great place on campus!
What is your favorite place in Havre?
My favorite place in Havre would have to be the 5th Ave. Grind. It’s a local coffee and sandwich shop in town that makes yummy food and great coffee! The Grind has free Wi-Fi that you can use, so I enjoy taking my homework there, grabbing a great cup of coffee and just having a nice cozy place to hangout for a couple hours.
If you were able to relive your freshman year, what advice would you give yourself?
The advice I would give myself would be to simply relax. The first week of school I was very overwhelmed with work and school, and I wasn’t sure if the major I had selected was the correct one for me. After about a month of school I settled in and changed my major to Elementary Education so I felt at ease. Everyone was overwhelmed like I was, but I felt that I was the only one. During your first week of school just relax and take things slowly.
Give us a fun fact about yourself.
This is a little odd, but I have two different sized thumbs. I am not sure if I was born like this, or if when I was little I damaged something in my left thumb, but regardless I have a two different sized thumbs. My left thumb is short and fat, whereas my right thumb is long and thin. It is a little strange, but it makes me, ME!
If you could live at any other time in history when would it be and why?
I would love to live in the 1980’s. I wish I could get to experience the music and the style of the 80’s. When my sister and I were little my dad would always play his 80’s music and we loved it! We knew every song by heart and many of the popular artists. We have had to the chance to go and see many 1980’s artists in concert with my dad which was very special and fun!
Why did you decide Northern?
During my senior year of High School I had no clue what I wanted to do after I graduated and felt very pressured to make a decision. The same year I went through some family issues and I could not see myself leaving my dad and sister behind. When the MSU-Northern recruiters came to Havre High to talk to us, I felt that Northern had the academics and everything to offer me what I needed at the time. After getting accepted into the University I was very excited. I knew that I would be at Northern for a couple years to get my generals done, and thought that after I was done with those I would transfer to another school. That is not the case now. I love the staff and facility that I work with and they truly make me feel at home when I am on campus. My Elementary Education teachers are great, and I absolutely love the program! Attending Montana State University-Northern was a great life choice for me to make.Top
