Celebrating 25 years of fun and friend-raising, the 2005 Northern Alumni Association Scholarship Social and Auction took place on Saturday, October 29th, 2005 at 6:30pm with a great crowd in the SUB Ballroom. The volunteers, board members, and guests raised yet another record income of $9,215.00 surpassing last year's all time high. The Social and Auction supports our fourteen $750 Alumni scholarships for incoming freshmen, continuing, non traditional and single parent students as well as a fine arts scholarship, and seven scholarships for Montana student athletes.

Alumni board members and volunteers dressed in Northern school colors and a few even wore their Halloween costumes two days early. Alumni board members worked hard in the weeks preceding the auction to contact donors and "gather" the auction items. Donations came in from local community businesses, campus family, and area friends as well as friends from as far away as Whitefish and Medicine Hat. The recent addition of a Silent Auction was popular this year and enhanced the Live Auction and the ever popular Chinese Auction. The Social featured a taco and chili feed donated by Taco John's of Havre, beverages were donated by Coca Cola Bottling of Havre, and water was donated by Town Pump and Pepsi of Havre.

The Northern Alumni Association would like to thank all the generous community businesses and individuals in the community of Havre, the Northern Family, and friends near and far, for the support given to our scholarships each year. They make a difference, in the opportunities available to our students. We owe a special thanks to Bo Pegar, from Big Sandy, Montana, who did the Live Auction items, to Chuck Jensen and Michele Calvert for calling all those numbers for the Chinese Auction, and to Todd Donoven of Kremlin for the expert management of the clock.

Members of the Northern family once again gave their time, talent, and/or money to the success of the 2005 Scholarship Social and Auction. The MSUN Athletic Office and the Light's Basketball, Football, Wrestling, and Skylight's Basketball, Volleyball and Golf, and the Rodeo team were there for us once again with contributions of sought after team items. Thank you to those members of our Northern family who donated items. Many people volunteered to help work and a good time was had by all.
