MSU-Northern Students Attend Presentation
Winter 2004

On February 10th and 11th Northern students were treated to a presentation by Roy Starke, Automotive Training Manager for the Western Region of the Gates Corporation, one of the world's largest manufacturers of industrial and automotive belts and hoses.

Roy presented two seminars on preventative maintenance of belts and hoses to approximately 170 students. Tim Eckroth, Territory Sales Manager for hoses, and hydraulics for Gates was also on hand to answer any questions.

"This is a great example of Northern's efforts to bring in current industry training for our students," says Tom Welch an agriculture professor at Northern. "The presentation was well done and I think we can look forward to seeing more industry presentations on campus." Students majoring in Agriculture, Agricultural Mechanics, Diesel and Automotive Technology, and Industrial Technology attended the presentations as part of class instruction.

Dan Hartmann, Student Body President stated, "I thought the presentation was very informative and educational. Tom Welch went the extra mile to prepare students for working with new technology."
