Ken Larson, a 1973 graduate and former alumni director of NMC was recently named Advertising Director of the Year by Pulitzer Newspapers. Pulitzer owns The Coos Bay World newspaper that Larson works for and cites Larson's creativity and ingenuity as reasons for his selection for this award.

Since his time at NMC, Larson has taught school in Malta, published weekly newspapers in Montana and Washington (including Havre's own Bear Paw Sentinel), and served as ad manager at both the East Oregonian in Pendleton, OR and the Herald and News in Klamath Falls, OR. He began working as ad director at The Coos Bay World in August 1997.

As part of his recognition, Larson was also awarded a week's vacation in Kauai, Hawaii and $2,500 in spending money.
