Each year the Northern Alumni Association of MSU-Northern awards 16 scholarships to worthy students. There are five Keith Clawson Memorial Scholarships given in memory of Keith Clawson, who was a well-known and admired NMC administrator, faculty member and student advisor. Two of those scholarships are designated for Incoming Freshman who are sons or daughters of Northern alums; one is designated the Continuing Student Scholarship for a son or daughter of a Northern alum; one is designated the Non-Traditional Student Scholarship and one is the Single Parent Scholarship. This year Kristin M. Roll of Havre, Montana and James Tyler McCann of Harlem, Montana received the Keith Clawson Memorial Incoming Freshman Scholarships.
