Chancellor Alex Capdeville and Athletic Director David Gantt were on hand from the college to receive the large symbolic check for $500,000 from Klabzuba Oil and Gas. The check was presented by Steven Frazier, Klabzuba's Chief Financial Officer and Cole Chandler Klabzuba's Havre Regional Director.

This new facility will be call the "Klabzuba Wellness Center" and will provide space for weightlifting and aerobic equipment as well as offices and new locker rooms. The facility is being designed to accommodate a new campus courtyard which is going in this summer. The courtyard and will be located between the Armory Gymnasium and Cowan Hall. The new Gym entryway will face the south parking lot and the entryway to the Wellness Center will face the new courtyard.

Cole Chandler commented, "We wanted to make a major contribution to the community of Havre and therefore felt this project best met our goals and would have a significant long term impact on the college and the community. This facility will be open the public and has a great potential benefit to our employees"

Chancellor Alex Capdeville stated that "This facility has been needed for a long time. It will allow us to reorganize and renovate some of our existing space while making it possible to improve our weightlifting and aerobic facilities. I believe that it is important to provide our students, faculty and staff with the resources to stay in shape and this facility will help us accomplish that goal."

"This money will make it possible for us to finalize our drawings while we continue to raise the rest of the funds needed to build this facility. If the fund raising goes according to plan, we could be breaking ground by May 2007" explained Gantt.
