New Chair of Board of Regents
Summer 2006

Lynn Morrison Hamilton, became the new Chair of the Montana Board of Regents during the May meeting in Havre. Hamilton was first appointed to the Board of Regents in February, 1999 by Governor Marc Racicot, was reappointed in January, 2006 for an additional seven year term by Governor Brian Schweitzer. She resigned her position as Executive Director of the MSU Northern Foundation after the reappointment.

She has served on the Board of Regent's policy and budget committee, chaired an ad hoc tuition policy committee, served on the nursing committee, and is a former Vice Chair of the Board. She currently chairs the Academic/Student Affairs Committee, and serves on the Workforce Development Committee. Hamilton also serves as chairperson of the Student Assistance Foundation. Regent Hamilton co chairs the P 20 committee, and is a member of the Indian Education for All Committee of the Board of Education. She is married to Miles Hamilton; they have two children, both attending Montana Universities.
