Northern Professors to Serve on the NCATE Board of Examiners
Summer 2005

Dr. Darlene Sellers, Associate Professor of Counselor Education, has been nominated to the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) Board of Examiners. Dr. Sellers will be representing the National Education Association (NEA) as one of only 145 professionals representing teachers on the Board of Examiners.

In order to serve, Dr. Sellers will have to successfully complete a week long training session. Upon completion of the session, Dr. Sellers will be expected to serve a three year term on the Board of Examiners. Two other individuals from MSU-Northern, Dr. Curtis Smeby, Associate Professor of Education, and Dr. Cheri Jimeno, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, currently serve on the Board of Examiners. Dr. Smeby was also nominated by NEA; Dr. Jimeno represents the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) on the board.
