IBIC Helps Launch ActionPicks.com
Summer 2000
Montana State University-Northern's Internet Business Incubation Center (IBIC) recently helped ActionPicks.com launch their electronic storefront. Steven Englman, founder of ActionPicks.com was looking for an internet company to assist with the start of his company when he heard about MSU-Northern's IBIC program from his son. Mike is working on a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems at Montana State UniversityNorthern and is enrolled in a cooperative education class at IBIC. The partnership was finalized when Steven came to Havre in May of 1999 to see the IBIC operations firsthand.

The IBIC students under the direction of MSU-Northern professors Jay Howland and Roger Stone developed ActionPicks.com's dynamic website, database, and on-line payment mechanism. Steven Englman stated that the ActionPicks.com IBIC partnership has been "A win-win situation for the students, the school and the business. Not only was the project brought in on time, but it was also within budget."

MSU-Northern's Internet Business Incubation Center is a cooperative development program through MSUN that assists businesses and internet start-ups with implementation of e-commerce.

ActionPicks.com is a company that takes action shots of various sporting events and then places them on their website where the athletes, relatives and the friends can see the photos shortly after they are taken.
