| Montana State University-Northern
welcomed back the Northern Montana College Class of 1950 on May 5th and
6th for their 50-year reunion. The memorable event included campus and
community tours, class meetings, and socialization time for the members
of the class to catch up with one another.
The reunion began on Friday,
May 5th, with class registration in Donaldson Commons. A luncheon was held
in Donaldson Commons featuring; MSU-Northern provost Dr. Roger Barber
who officially welcomed the Class of 1950 back to campus. Montana State
University-Northern's Northstar student ambassador team led the 50-year
graduates on a tour of the campus. Class meetings were held for the graduates
in the afternoon and that night a social hour was held at the home of MSU-Northern
Chancellor
Mike Rao. Friday's festivities concluded with the Founder's
Excellence dinner and reunion banquet in the Montana State University-Northern
Student Union Building Dining Room. The 50-year alumni received their pins
at this dinner.
On Saturday, May 6th, MSU-Northern's
commencement ceremony highlighted the weekend as the 50-year graduates,
also known as "Golden Graduates", marched in the processional and were
recognized during the graduation ceremony. After graduation the Class of
1950 joined the graduating Class of 2000, faculty, staff and administration
at the Student Union Building Ballroom for the graduation brunch. A tour
of Havre Beneath Streets was held that afternoon and a social hour and
barbecue concluded the weekend's activities.
