Fall 2001  
September 29th at 6:30 p.m. with a full house in Donaldson Commons and
raised a record $6,840.00.
The Social and Auction supports our thirteen Alumni scholarships for two
incoming freshmen, a continuing student, a non-traditional student, a single
parent, a fine arts scholarship, and seven scholarships for varsity Montana
student-athletes.
Just 18 days after the tragic events on September 11th, the gathering spent some time honoring those who lost their lives and those who worked so hard to save lives. It was a somber and thoughtful decision for the board to continue with the plans for this auction. They felt it was important to continue the scholarships for next year. "Feelin' Groovy" was the theme and workers dug out their bell-bottoms, platform shoes, and tie-dyed best in celebration of the `70s. They had planned and decorated the "Commons" accordingly. Alumni board members volunteered their time to contact donors and "gather" the auction items for several weeks before the event. Items are donated by generous local community businesses, campus family, and area friends and were auctioned in the popular Chinese Auction or at regular auction. The Social featured a taco and chili feed donated by Taco John's of Havre.
