1001.9 Animals in Buildings

Policy

Animals are not allowed in campus buildings; exception listed below.

Exception:

This would not apply to dogs used for aiding the physically impaired, such as guide dogs for the sight impaired.

Procedures

• If an employee sees an animal in a building with its owner, the owner should be asked to remove the animal from the building.
• If the owner refuses, do not argue with the person. Just make a note of the incident and report it to the Director of Facilities Services or the Vice Chancellor for Finance, Administration & Student Affairs.
