Arlys was born and raised in North Dakota. Her undergraduate BSN degree was obtained at Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana in 1974. She obtained her certificate as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 1981 from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. In 2003 she returned to school on-line at UCHSC completing her Masters of Science in Nursing in August of 2005. Currently she is in the Nursing PhD program at UCHSC. Her nursing career has been extensively in pediatrics with additional experiences as a Clinical Instructor for MSU Northern’s LPN and ADN program in the late 70’s and a preceptor for both MSU Northern’s BSN program and MSU Bozeman’s Nurse Practitioner Program. Her husband, Dale, is actively engaged in the farming/ranching business. They have two daughters who are currently in college.
