Looking for a career that is interesting and challenging while providing a good income, security, and opportunity for advancement? The Toyota Technical Education Network Program (T-TEN) at Northern is a training program that offers an opportunity to start your career as a Toyota Motors service technician. This program is integrated into our Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology and provides you with technical competency at a professional level. Students will be certified in 14 online Toyota modules and 9 hands on Toyota Courses that are incorporated into our curriculum. In addition, students will work at a Toyota dealer to get 640 hours of experience over a summer. Students will also take 8 Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) tests while they go through in our program. T-TEN combines classroom study and hands-on dealership experience. Students work with the latest technology, tools and equipment and graduate with Toyota and industry certifications. Certifications are earned by T-TEN graduates for completing Toyota-designed courses and for passing National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification tests. These certificates are widely recognized within the industry and allow technicians to earn more money and gain increased responsibilities. "Job opportunities in this occupation are very good for persons who complete automotive training programs." Technician pay has been rising faster than inflation since 1988. (NADA) Technicians have a lot of employment choices. There are more than 21,000 new car dealerships across the country. Kevin Johnson |
